Men’s Soccer Ends Season with Loss to #4 Parkland College in Semi-Final Game

The Men’s Soccer team traveled to take on #4 in the nation Parkland College in the Semi-Final of Region 24 play.  The Lynx had several great chances to get on the board first but Parkland’s goalie kept them off the score board. Parkland got on the board in the middle of the half when they converted a corner kick.  Parkland was not done scoring in the first half as they scored on another corner kick with just 8 seconds left in the half.

Lincoln came out strong, but Parkland scored on another free kick early in the second half. Lincoln College’s Adrian Roman got on the board for Lincoln scoring on a break away goal.  Despite having 9 shots on goal the second half the Lynx could not find the back of the net again.

Coach Massena commented after the game. “We really pressed the second half and had some quality chances both halves.  We couldn’t find the back of the net and Parkland’s goalie made some big saves today. I’m happy with the season and wish we could have made it to the final, but we didn’t get the job done today and now we start preparing for next season.”
