Men’s Soccer Advances to Semi-Final Match in Region 24

The Lincoln College Men’s soccer team hosted Heartland Community College Saturday in the region 24 Quarterfinal match.  Lincoln came out on fire, getting two quick goals in the opening 15 minutes.  Adrian Roman scored from a slotted ball by Cristian Castillo. Not long after, Jose Castillo finished a cross from his brother, Cristian to put the Lynx up 2-0. Jose Castillo received a second chance to score in the 20th minute on a penalty kick, but pushed the ball wide, keeping Heartland in the game.

Lincoln’s Shevon Stewart earned the third goal of the game in the 35th minute when he curled a ball from 35 out past the Heartland keeper.  Second half would start with Jose Castillo scoring 15 seconds into the second half when Shevon Stewart dribbled past two defenders and hit a cross to Jose and put the Lynx up 4-0.

Lynx goalie, Pierson Fleming, earned another shutout on the year!
